| Christmas Goodies! |
Day 1: Tacos with all the fixings: Cheese, meat, re-fried beans, sour cream, salsa, lettuce, cucumbers, guacamole, tomatoes, and a squeeze of lime (a crowd pleaser in our home). Dessert? Fried Ice cream (only tried it once, but remember it tasting GREAT) or ice cream from the D. King (my daughter can't wait until May!).
Day 2: Pancakes with syrup, bananas, peanut butter, strawberries, peaches, whipped cream, and chocolate. With a greek omelet on the side. And hash browns. No dessert required after that! (N., can we split two meals again?)
Day 3: Chicken curry, vegetable basmati rice, naan, cucumber raita, samosas, and mango pickle. Dessert ~ Warm Gulab Jamuns. Thanks Mom!
Day 4: Veranika, farmer sausage, cream gravy, and garden corn. Dessert: Chocolate Flapper Pie. My mother-in-law got me hooked.
Day 5: Green Thai curry, Pad Thai noodles, anything and everything coconut & mango, sweet & sour pork, dim sum, and assorted sushi. Dessert - anything and everything coconut & mango. Ode to South East Asia.
Day 6: Deep-fried halibut, fries, and coleslaw from Nautical Nellie's. Oh my... Dessert... can't think after the previous thought... SUCH great memories! Loved my time out West with my husband last year!
Day 7: Ohhhh... a tie! Can't decide!!! Turkey dinner with all the side dishes (including cranberry sauce and baked butternut squash) and homemade pumpkin pie for dessert (oh, the holidays...) OR BBQ chicken on the grill, loaded baked potatoes, roasted vegetable couscous salad and unbaked cherry cheese cake for dessert (oh, summer on the deck...).
I feel full... I am thankful for the world's creative minds that imagined the possibilities in food preparation! And I am thankful for all the memories that accompany my seven day meal plan. :)
