Going, Going, Gone...

This is your last chance folks! Last chance to comment on this blog. No, I'm not ending it. Not yet, anyway. But, I'm partially changing the purpose of my blog from its original intent.

Almost four years ago I wrote:

"...connecting with people in real time and space is not always a reality. Therefore, I need a space for my reflections, albeit virtual. I need a potential readership for my authorship, even if this 'paperback' collects dust on a used book rack. I need a framework to be intellectual, especially since my day consists of using simple sentences when talking to my beautiful baby daughter (and it is a delight to talk to her!). And yes, sometimes, I NEED to be alone..."

I started this blog as a framework for intellectual stimulation and introspective reflections. And even though I acknowledged that these words would be read by a choice few, I now realize that I've desired more kudos from this space than is realistic to expect. After all, "Blogging is not writing. It's just graffiti with punctuation," (a quote that made me smile off of the movie Contagion (2011)). And with the amount of virtual graffiti out there, it is difficult for the average person who only has a limited amount of time to sort through what is worthy to either "follow" or "add to favourites". I guess somewhere along the line I thought I had something unique to offer. True, at times I might have written an inspiring piece of composition. But let's be honest, most of what I talk about is already been discussed by someone much more wiser and capable than me and corresponded with more flare than I can ever imagine. And for the times I've hoped for encouragement for some struggle or issue via comments, I've received either none or only a select few on more than one occasion. And neither should I anticipate anything more! People are just too busy with all the other social media out there. Therefore, in the end, if I really need someone to uplift my soul, being direct via e-mail or phone call, or better yet, a visit in person, is the more effective method.

So why bother?

Now, like I said, I'm not shutting this space down. Instead, I will be launching a new focus with the comments disabled. All I can say for now is that my future posts will be geared towards writing for my children or writing to my Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. You are still welcomed to stop by and read.

I think this change will do me good.
