Thankfulness #12: My Red Eccos

Hiking with my Eccos
My goal was to purchase a pair of comfy shoes to grace my feet during a Canadian west coast trip to celebrate *US*. The result? A lesson in perseverance and grace! And a FABULOUS story of excellent customer service coupled with a sweet I-CAN'T-BELIEVE-IT deal.
  1. Frantically searched for a pair of Ecco sandals in a larger urban center. The style that piqued my interested were either too expense for my budget or on sale but unavailable in my size. Settled for a pair of Romika sandals that looked a bit "senior citizenish". Oh well...
  2. Donned on the Romikas for a couple of days once I returned home. Threads on the interior of the shoe started to feel like sandpaper. Contacted the manager and negotiated a return of the shoes in the near future.
  3. Purchased a cheap sandal at Walmart. Feet HURT! Returned the shoes in spite of some wear and tear.
  4. Week before departure, searched Quarks.ca for Ecco sandals. Found what I desired for $20 less than the original price. Ordered them online.
  5. Ecco sandals arrived three days later (Wednesday)! Tried them on, but wavy foot bed pinched my feet. Argh!
  6. Accidentally (or by Divine Intervention) called an Ecco retailer instead of Quarks. Salesperson advised that I return the sandals and purchase a similar sandal with a flat foot bed. Salesperson didn't have any of the sandals on stock but was willing to order them from an adjacent province.
  7. Salesperson ordered the shoes on Thursday, they arrived on Friday, and he held them for me until Sunday. What a superb individual!
  8. Called Quarks, the correct retailer, and negotiated the return of my wavy foot bed sandals.
  9. Red polish to match!
  10. Picked up my beautiful RED Ecco Yucatan sandals from an Ecco store in the city of our flight departure. While prepared to pay the sale price of $105, the cashier announced that the shoes were further reduced to $45 plus tax!!! A $100 discount from the original retail price!
  11. Departed with my husband the next day with my great shoes on my feet. What an "eleventh hour" blessing from God! And what comfortable sandals!
Thank you Ecco for making my purchasing experience a delight. And thank you L. for going that extra mile for an out-of-town, desperately-need-good-walking-shoes-for-a-trip customer! I hope to do business with you again!
